Commission a Wine Painting using your favourite wine!

If you would like a custom painting or portrait by me, I would be honoured to be your artist!

Each Custom Wine Painting is created on 400 cold-press watercolour paper. Once complete, they will receive multiple coats of archival spray as well as 2 coats of museum quality varnish in order to preserve the piece. It will not fade but will age over time. I will have it professionally scanned and a giclee reproduction of it included so that you may compare it to the original during the aging process. A signed certificate of authenticity will also be included.

Custom Framing: if requested, we create custom frames out of oak staves that fermented in wine. They are sealed with matte mahogany or  matte onyx stain/varnish. Non-glare glass or conservation clear glass (protects against 99% UV Rays) is available along with archival mating (single or double) along with a professional backing will be installed.

Steps to follow:

  1. Contact or email me at mproudlock@hotmail.com & please include:
    1. The size of painting you would like (a deposit of half the amount will be required before starting)
    2. The image you would like recreated or a rough idea of what you would like
    3. The wine that you wish to have painted with
  2. The process of painting your piece will begin. (it will take hours to complete and if requested, I can provide progress images as I go for you to see)
  3. Your painting will be sent off to be professionally scanned and a giclee reproduction created
  4. If custom framing is requested, it will be created while the painting is being scanned
  5. When the painting is complete I will send you a separate invoice for shipping (if required)
  6. Then your custom artwork will be on its way to you!

To give you an idea of the various shades of wine I’ve created a small “wine colour palette”. Wine is an organic pigment and will sometimes change slightly over time as these are not sealed behind varnish but are open in my wine fridge to paint with (as you can see with the example of the Rose wines).

For a Christmas gift to their Mum. Three sisters requested a portrait done of their late father. They put so much through into this piece, from the reference photo, the title of the piece to the music that accompanied the progress video (that video is private as the music was from Frank Sinatra).
It took over 30 hours to complete not including the hours to create the custom frame to finish the piece.

Your work is awesome. I’ve realised from following your posts, that its not just about the skill of painting its also the skill of understanding wine and how to manage the wine to create the textures that you need. This isn’t something that you can just go to and arts and craft store an buy, you actually have to make your paint, and some time in advance by the look of it.Truly something special!
